There were also several spots where the hero said some lovely things to the heroine. On the other hand it had the usual problems that I find with this author.

The story lines always sound good but the execution fails for me. Things happened really fast. By that I mean that a situation would arise and be instantly solved on the next page. She's kidnapped! Never mi I only read the DP one of these books. Never mind, the hero saves her 12 hours later. She hears the hero say something pretty bad about her. Lots of room for angst and misunderstands and trauma but no she immediately faces the hero with what she hear and that trauma is over.

And at the end view spoiler [ the hero know she pregnant evidently because he has super sperm and just knows since he did her once that she is knocked up.

He goes to her doctor before she has her first appointment and tells the doctor not to tell her so that he can convince the heroine that he loves her before she can tell him that she is pregnant. He thinks she will never believe he loves her but will be convinced that he onlhy wants her for the baby. As soon as the heroine confesses her love and about the baby, he says I know! I snuck around and told the dr not to tell you. Seems to me she would immediately think just what he didn't want her to think.

But the author didn't want to write that so she just ignored it. Why did I read this when I know DP is not for me? Well I got the book for free. What can I say?

Micah Steele comes to Callie Kirby's rescue when she is kidnapped by a drug lord. Callie is Micah's stepsister who has loved him since she was Micah is a mercenary and has been estranged from his family for 4 years or so all because of Callie's mother.

Micah blamed Callie as well and he acts as if he hates her. He is a typical hero for Ms. Palmer and this book is similar to a lot of others that she writes. He is antagonistic towards the Callie but she doesn't let him run roughshod all over h Micah Steele comes to Callie Kirby's rescue when she is kidnapped by a drug lord.

He is antagonistic towards the Callie but she doesn't let him run roughshod all over her. She has had to be tough with the past that she has had. Palmer has written a few stories with stepbrothers and stepsisters falling in love with each other. It is not the norm but then it can happen in real life. Her books often have the hero as a handsome, sexy male whereas the females are often unconventionally pretty, more beautiful on the inside. They are real and not like some of the women that follow the heroes around with the big boobs and the holier than thou attitudes.

The was a fast read and it has some characters from past novels and new ones that I would like to see in other stories.

Dec 07, GuisBell rated it it was ok Shelves: lo-normal. Oct 24, Edlyn rated it did not like it. Are all of Diana Palmer's "heroes" such misogynistic assholes? Are all her female characters total pushovers with no self-worth?!?
